About the authors:
David M. Dozier is a member of the public relations faculty of the school of communication at San Diego State University. He is also the author or co-author of over 50 books, book chapters, articles, and scholarly papers.Dozier is a principal in Lauzen & Dozier Associates, a communication research and planning consulting firm in San Diego.
Larissa A. Grunig is a retired professor in the department of communication at the University of Maryland. Formerly a reporter and editor of a community newspaper in Colorado, she has served as a consultant in public relations, to clients such as Allstate, Fleishman-Hillard Public Relations, American Airlines, the U.S. Department of Energy, and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. Grunig was founding co-editor of the Journal of Public Relations Research and has written well over 200 articles, book chapters, monographs, reviews, and conference papers.
James E. Grunig is professor emeritus in the department of communication at the University of Maryland. He has published 250 articles, books, chapters, papers and reports. He directed the US$400,000 "Excellence Study" research project for the IABC Research Foundation on excellence in public relations and communication management.
